I am going to put some finishing touches on the guest room this weekend (lighting issues, specifically) and I know, I knowwwwwww it’s taking forever. Girl’s gotta work, sheesh! Here are a couple of shots to give you an idea of where I’m heading with this little makeover of mine.
This is the rug I’ve been eyeing since our trip to Texas, where I first spotted it at a local Costco near my sister’s home. She picked one up for her media room (seriously, can you go wrong for $150 bucks?!) while we were there, and I fell in love. Seriously, you NEED to walk on this thing. Oh, and similar rugs (but no where near as plush) go for over $600 elsewhere for a 5x7. Costco, I love you. And your rugs. So sumptuous. It’s amazing. Next time you’re in the area - let’s have a party in my guest room with bare feet on this rug. It’s that spectacular. Did things just get weird? Ooops.
Griffin though? Not impressed. “This is the rug you picked, Ma?”
He’s a big faker, because he WILL NOT leave that rug. Whenever we can’t find him in the house, he’s curled up on that rug upstairs. In the sun. That dog has the life. Here’s a little glimpse into the color we went with for the walls, even though it’s dark. And check out that shiny, crisp, white trim. Beauteous. Yes, clearly, we know we were silly for installing the new outlets after dark. #youliveandyoulearn #makingmemories
As for the color scheme, I’m drawn to this fabric and I’m playing off of it. So fun and bright.
